When you uninstall steam keeps basic information and logs, configs etc on the computer, while doing what I posted also! Oh damn, I failed at reading then, sorry for bothering! I hope you get that problem fixed, best of luck. Originally posted by Skull Flint:.
Have you fixed it? If not, Volvo needs to. Once you click on the steam folder you should be able to see values pop up on the right window. Right click on it and goto Modify. Change the value to and press OK Right click in the right window and goto "New" then "String Value". Right click on the string you just created and goto 'Modify Change the value to Restart your computer and try MM. Originally posted by eh screw it:. Wouldn't put it past them to be honest. Anyways, I don't think it is any real problem, a slight inconvenience more than anything, but it does get frustrating when you get three or more failed ques in a row. Don't think there really is a both fair and effective way to deal with this either way. Maybe some short, few minutes matchmaking penalty for people who decline more than once in a row, like someone said. After the first decline it really isn't legit anymore because if you declined once then you probably had something better to do like anything else so why are you qued up again immediately after?
Exactly this is why LoL matchmaking sucks NO u suck man. Yeah, it's pretty annoying. I think little punishment would be good - like 15 mins. Maybe wait time could be a little longer - don't know how big is it now s but it could be increased s, because it's better to wait a little then search for a match for another xx mins.. And i think they could add a feature that you could see how many players already are found - it could decrease afkers. Actually that's the timeout, you need to respond in a few seconds else it automatically declines.
NO u suck man This is dev forums, not a place for Ad Hominem arguments. You must be playing AP games. This is dev forums, not a place for Ad Hominem arguments. Often times the queu timer will even reset to 0: Well I already mentioned earlier in this thread why I dont want to penalize people who say decline, so I dont see the need to post another text with some content.
And actually the comitted MM is smth that LoL is already doing worse so i tell my opinion to people who want this This has not been the case for me at all. Whatever the timer says, you should be put into high priority que after a declined match. If someone starts a game, and 5 minutes into the game, they have "suddenly summoned by their real life and absolutely cant accept now", they can quit the game and get an abandon. It doesn't matter what their excuse is. They abandoned a game, so they deserve an abandon.
One won't be a big deal, but if they make it a habit, it should affect them because nobody wants to play with someone who has a strong chance of leaving.
All dedicated queueing does is start that process a few minutes earlier. You decide if you have time for a game. Then you confirm to enter the queue. From that point you are in the same situation as if the game had just started. I'm not gonna be an advocate for HoN's methods, but in this case they have it right. There's no disadvantage to such a system, but it lowers queue times and makes it so I have a couple extra minutes to pee before I have to pick my hero. LoL does teh committed que crap If you leave right after the game starts, you're not exactly "ruining" a game either. Everyone can just start over and have a little longer queue time.
But you have to draw the line somewhere. I'm just drawing it a couple minutes earlier.
The exact same thing. OK guys we can argue until we are blue in the face: Maybe a poll needs to be set up - I'll get hold of a mod and see if they think it's a good idea. What happens if your game actually starts and then your friend joins right after? Those are 10 minutes I could've been playing, but since there's no punishment, people don't care when they queue up.
They can do whatever the fuck they feel like when they queue, there's no deterrence for them to kill everyone's time. If I play 5 games and I have to wait 10 extra minutes queuing, someone effectively wasted 50 minutes of my time. That's a game right there. People simply leave queuing on and go afk.
When I have to go to the bathroom, I cancel queue.
Auto-decline is there for a good reason, however I think many people unintentionally abuse it. Some people play Single Draft only and que times can go to m easily. That's a game right there. The degree is just the hard part. One won't be a big deal, but if they make it a habit, it should affect them because nobody wants to play with someone who has a strong chance of leaving. This way you only need to start next game about 10 minutes instead 20 seconds.
When someone rings a door, I cancel a queue. I never leave it on and go afk. Otherwise, they DO deserve a punishment.
The thing you need to understand is that if someone has to go and do something, they'll decline and go. You'll still have to wait and you wouldn't want that person accept and do whatever they had to do while being afk. Not to mention the amount of players right now is rather low, it's closed beta for fucks sake. The only reason we're having this discussion is because there's not enough players to warrant an instant game when you search a match.
But I agree that poeple who decline matches 2 times in a row should be punished. Low priority isnt enough, if they are trolling they will just wait the 2 minutes more as well. Low priority is only an option if it stacks, which isnt possible i think. The time resets after an Accept. This way people who are declining with valid reasons are not affected at all, people who decline on purpose get stacked penalties and arent able to queue at all for the time being. Do you really think that people do this? I have seen so much in MOBA games and the internet in general.
I expect everything from everyone. And someone pointed that out earlier, it could just be trolls spectating a game whilst queueing and declining So it's not really a punishment, then. You're still being punished. And that's the deterrent needed to stop people from just queuing up and wasting time. You don't really understand the point of this thread do you?
As much as I appreciate the feature's existence it certainly seems like it's being abused. It seems notorious for the fact that you can't queue up for a -single- game without having to run into one or two denials. At the very least my high-priority queues are typically seconds long, but it would be nice to demotivate it. How timeouts usually happens?
After match loads you see message that you didnt accepted game. And you would penalize for this someone? I don't think there is a lot of players that decline or timeout games in row. After decline you get in high priority queen so i dont see why the fuck someone would be pissed for extra few seconds. Dota should be a game, not system that will judge ppl for every missed click.
Yes, I would penalize someone. The queue times in Dota 2 are fast, and even faster if someone declines. It's not worth doing that because you aren't going to piss anyone off, and even if someone does it, they probably won't get into your game after declining. I'm not sure how exactly the system works, but every time someone declines it says that you now have higher priority which means that you'll get matched with other people that have higher priority whoever declined isn't one of them , or at least that's what makes sense to me.
Nobody is out there to get you. Been said already, the problem comes from the fact that the game is in closed beta with a small amount of players. Not enough players equals long queue times, now try to get this into your head and chill.
