Don't get us wrong, it would be more than awesome if scientists discovered that when two crazy people mated, each person's crazy canceled out the other person's crazy thus rendering both of them uncrazy. If that was the case, NoLongerLonely. Unfortunately, our extensive experience with suicide cults and supervillain cabals indicates that it doesn't work that way. Generally, when you put crazy in the room with more crazy, you get a sort of multiplication of the crazy that winds up creating a whole clown shit-and-bananas flavored milkshake, greater than the sum of its just regular parts.

So with that in mind, it's hard to imagine how this site is a good idea for anyone.

If you had a mental illness, would someone else with the same problem really be the best dating option? How many users does No Longer Lonely have? I have over 30, users. A sizeable percentage of those probably haven't been on the site for a while. I do occasional purges to get rid of older profiles.

But who knows? That person might get a message and come back. The big stat is the amount of marriages that I've had with the site. And these are only the ones that I've been told of, but there's been more than You must have a mental illness to be on the site. How does that work?

Skip the weekends. The site is a good idea in theory but the awful webmaster spoils it. And on the rare occasions that he does, he doesn't care about what the person has written to him about. How about I joke about it instead. They just removed schizoaffective and now it falls under schizophrenia. Go at your own pace. James: thanks again!

It's difficult. I can't biopsy everybody's brain. But it's actually been pretty good. I've had very few people that come on there as a joke or prey on the users, at least that I know of. Another one that's gone is Asperger's. Asperger's doesn't exist anymore, now it's an autism spectrum disorder.

There really aren't that many categories of mental illness. But I don't think people identify themselves that much as, 'I am that or this.
