Okay, first I feel like I need to say that I know some people get married right after they graduate high school, and that is a different story. So dating in high school meant it would be a really long time before he and I could get married.
I struggled with loneliness some back in high school. I knew that having a boyfriend would make me feel less lonely, but I knew that loneliness was a lie.

My friend pointed out that now that she was single again, she felt freer to reach out to other girls around her and grow in friendships. She had more time to serve with her church than she did when she was dating. My resolve was strengthened.
In fact, it was four years after my friend and I created the above list before a guy asked me out. Now that Caleb and I are dating, I do kinda wish I had some sort of experience in dating to fall back on. But I do wish I had some sort of experience to help me out. I had time to serve my church and hang out with my friends whenever I wanted. I believe that when a lot of people enter high school, they get excited about the wrong things. Some may be excited to go to parties, or one that I see most often is people wanting to be in relationships. But is it really worth it? Most students already have too much on their plate as it is.
If you add a relationship on top of all of the homework and extracurricular activities, it will create stress and will almost always create unnecessary drama. It might even pull you away from your school work as well, therefore making your grades drop. Also, it is rare to see a high school relationship last. And if the relationship does last, both people almost never stay happy forever. Why not just avoid that whole situation in the first place?
Additionally, being in a relationship can put you in some bad positions as well. You could be tempted beyond your personal comfort zone.
