Doing an internship is a great way to get first-hand work experience and to gain access to the best graduate jobs.
As a part of this professional bachelor's degree programme, you are required to do an internship in the 8th semester. This will allow you to apply theory to real-world business tasks and also to practice a number of valuable skills such as communication, time and project management, innovation and teamwork. You will benefit from working in a real-life engineering environment and gain professional experience relevant to your future career as a Global Business Engineer.
The internship will also improve your employability, as work-readiness is a top priority to employers when they look for graduates to fill vacancies. Remember that the main reason for companies to recruit students is not just to bring extra skills to a specific project but to view you as a potential hire.
You may do the internship in a company of your choice in Denmark or abroad. The minimum period allowed for an internship is 20 weeks of full-time work. Some internships are salaried, but there is no obligation for the company to pay a salary. The hallmark of the programme is the international focus and the inter-disciplinary skills which will make you attractive to a wide range of companies.
Global business engineers operate primarily in the industrial market, especially in mechanical and IT-related industries. The degree qualifies you to fill managerial positions within design and implementation of technical solutions, as well as within marketing and sales. Your first job might be as a project manager, export manager, product manager or marketing coordinator. The terms of admission vary depending on the specific programmes. Our double-degree programme also offers the possibility of obtaining two degrees in about the same time as it would take to do one separate degree. To enrich the study experience and nurture cultural diversity on campus, we encourage our students to study abroad and welcome foreign students from partner institutions.
VIA University College have coorperation agreements with approximately institutions in 33 countries in Europe as well as overseas. This means that you have the opportunity to choose to study, for instance, for one semester at one of our partner institutions in another country.
You may also choose to do your internship in an international company in another part of the world. Both possibilities give you the opportunity to experience the way of life in another culture.
