Along comes year old widower Ben. He's been mourning the loss of his best friend and great love. He's shocked that his body even remembers what desire and plain old LUST feels like.
But, he can't help himself Regina can barely stand up to the sensual assault of her senses that Ben unleashes on her.

Regina and Ben have been starving for each other and they are wary of the intensity of their lust for each other. I liked everything about these two, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the F-bomb free sexplay descriptions of their moments together.
I also appreciated the references to their age and the considerations and adjustments they were willing to make to enjoy each others' quirks and their ageing bodies and libidos. More stories like this please. One person found this helpful. Why -you ask; because this author nails down so many aspects of a mature woman's perspective whether it comes from the friendships she has with her girlfriends, to career successes, to insecurities - to the desire to have a partner who cherishes you as a complete albeit complicated "package.
Can't put down - you betcha! I love Donna McDonald. Her heroes are always older, seasoned, polished, experienced, and know how to get what they want. This one was no exception. She is a 47 yr. Most of it undeserved but because of her vocation, everyone wants to believe the tabloids. He sees her at a fund raiser and that is it for him.
She is quite taken with him but she is afraid the notoriety around her and her profession would soil his nice guy image. He wants it soiled. He goes after her with a vengeance.

Makes your heart flutter. It is a great story, I loved it and recommend it. I was having a bad spell of reading books that were so depressing and dark, I wanted something I could root for the characters and feel good when it ended. I knew McDonald's book would do it. That hero has stayed with me. I got the book free and discovered an author I just love. I went on to buy the rest of the books in the series. The sons were great, but the father was something else.
So far, I haven't read a McDonald book I didn't like.
You will feel good when you finish the book. McDonald has written a wonderful, multi-layered novel filled with humor and dirty talk. I enjoyed the building of characters in this book. They are dynamic and well rounded, while the plot is well thought out and nicely paced. Unfortunately, Regina's negative publicity threatens the livelihoods of the very people Ben most cares about.

They had a very tumultuous courtship - if you can call it that - because Regina was always followed by reporters when she was with a man. Page 1 of 1 Start over Page 1 of 1. The last chapter was the prologue so I'm wondering if we're missing an epilogue as it just sorta ended. Never Too Late 7 books. Donna, I loved this book as much as your other ones.
